Live on the Red Carpet

The glitz, glitter and glamour of Hollywood’s Kodak Theatre is coming to North Bay and the Learning Library campaign is rolling out the red carpet, literally.

The campaign unveiled details about Live on the Red Carpet, a major event taking place at the Capitol Centre on May 9, 2009. The black-tie event will feature live music by the award-winning Amy Sky and Marc Jordan, comedy from Craig Lauzon, and a theatrical performance by Rep 21 Contemporary Theatre. Scott Clark will host.

Presented by the Alumni Associations of Canadore College and Nipissing University, Live on the Red Carpet will raise funds for the Learning Library while celebrating the donors who have given to the Learning Library campaign.

“The Capitol Centre will definitely be the place to be on May 9 for Live on the Red Carpet,” said Al McDonald, Live on the Red Carpet Committee Chair. “Everyone will be dressed in their finest, with paparazzi snapping photos of guests arriving to enjoy an amazing night of food and entertainment. There will even be our own version of Joan Rivers interviewing guests as they arrive. We’re pulling out all the stops to make this a memorable evening, and a fitting way to thank the donors, the people who have connected us to a world of opportunities.”

Tickets for Live on the Red Carpet are available at the Capitol Centre box office; prices range from $125 to $200. http://www.capitolcentre.ca/
